Her hole-in-the-wall shop 'Kazuyo's Collection' is a creative bridge between Australia and Japan, connecting local craftspeople across her two homes. She is also the quiet architect behind new label Ori Oru. In English, Ori Oru translates to 'weaving moments in between,’ encouraging us to reflect not only upon the physical process of textile creation but the passage of time. This poetic phrase grounds us in awareness of both the literal and metaphorical threads that tie us together.

Kat Walsh is the founder of Practice Studio, a boutique home to over 50 Australian independent designers.
